    Re: Just PRETTY!!!!

No he said he used it in his living room since he bought it new in 1985 !!

You could probably put that together for $5G's but it would be close and would take a longtime. He also has the 45 deg. offsets for the throats on them.Don't know why, they are used for outdoor apps.

I would also mount those XO's outside the cabs to make use of all the internal volume as possible.I would prefer 416's in them as well.

Something you don't see everyday They are 360 Lbs. Monsters !

    Thanks AB!

I was wondering about the offsets.... Did they do this to help make them rain resistant?

Figger a grand for the multicells, 300 each for drivers...and 300 each for the 515's....all of which could be bettered. That still leaves 1600 for cabs and xovers, so pretty easy to do for 5 G's. But might not look as nice....on the plus side...what was the original buyer thinking? 291? Those really need to be 288's.

Good to see you here OG!

Remember that fella(Reed Hinton) from a few years back who was a member here that built his own 817's?

For you newer members Mr Hinton took us on a pictorial journey thru his build from start to finish. His work was flawless, and the final result nothing less than beautiful to our crowd here.

Sadly, i think neither the thread or pics have survived multiple Altec board server migrations.
